Welcome to The Richland School of Academic Arts!

This is my 10th year in the world of education, 7th year at The Richland School of Academic Arts, and my first year in my new journey as Intervention and Engagement Specialist. My role as interventionist will center around ensuring students are progressing toward becoming proficient readers. As a life-long learner, I am committed to growing on a continuous basis. I look forward to engaging with students, educators, and families to promote growth in reading and beyond. 

Mansfield, Ohio has been my home since birth, and I am honored to now have the opportunity to serve those in the same community in which I was served as a child. Growing up, I was known as the family paparazzi as I was always caught with a camera in tow.  Photography is still a hobby that I thoroughly enjoy. I also never passed up on the opportunity to learn. As you can see, not much has changed! I was never caught without a book or a pencil and notebook by my side. I still love to read and only wish I had as much time to enjoy it as I did when I was younger! I look forward to helping students and families be more deeply rooted in reading this school year. Reading is the key that unlocks countless doors. 

With my husband, Scott, I have three beautiful children: Scottia, Shayden; and my bonus son, Jeramyah. Scottia and Shayden both attend RSAA. As an educator and a parent, I appreciate the unique focus on the arts our school provides. One does not have to be an artist to appreciate the arts, and that is what I love about our school. It is not about becoming an artist, but about appreciating and growing through art. Instruction in the arts helps students develop necessary skills like fine and gross motor skills and social skills. Students also learn how to make decisions and take risks they may have never taken if not for the arts. Finally, the arts provide a creative outlet for students to express themselves. We hope to bring both academics and the arts alive through your children.
